The new release of TaxTron Web Pro (T1, T2, T3, Combo) slated for release in July 2023, is equipped with a new domain verification tool intended to improve the deliverability of outgoing emails from your TaxTron Web Pro software.

There are two main advantages to verifying your email domain:

  • On the technical side, verifying your email domain is a critical step in ensuring the security and deliverability of your emails. It confirms that you or your firm are the verified owners of the domain and prevents others from using it for malicious purposes, such as phishing. Additionally, verifying your domain can improve the chances of your emails reaching their intended recipients by providing a trackable identifier to their internet service provider which will verify you are the legitimate sender. It also allows you to gain greater control over user accounts within your organization, manage profiles, security settings, and more. If you are not proficient in your website’s technical matter, it is highly recommended to contact your domain registrar (i.e., GoDaddy) or an IT professional.
  • Verifying your email domain and sending emails from your own domain rather than a third-party domain such as TaxTron, also attests to the professionalism of your firm and contribute to its corporate image.
  • Please note the email domain verification is optional and it will not affect the functionality of your software if you decided not to proceed with this step.

To verify the domain, you will need the following:

  • Locate your email domain DNS settings which can be found in your website’s cPanel, with your domain registrar, hosting provider, or any other DNS provider; and
  • Experience in DNS settings
  • To verify the domain, the following steps should be taken:

Step:1 Click on your account email on top right-hand corner of your landing page and click on “Profile”.

Step:2 In the next screen, on the bottom of the left pane select “Customization”.

Step:3 You will be presented with three options in the top-left hand corner of the screen. Click on “Domain”, enter the details of your domain and click “Verify Domain”. If you already have a verified domain and wish to change the domain, you will see “Change Domain” instead of the “Verify Domain” button.

Step:4 Enter the DNS (Domain Name System) details as provided by your domain provider by either copy-pasting from the domain provider’s platform or manually entering in the respective fields. Click “Run Status Check”. Once all of the DNS details have been verified, the value in the “Status” column will change from “Pending” to “Complete”. There should be no “Pending” items otherwise the domain can not be verified. In such cases, it is highly recommended to contact your domain provider to double-check the information.

The last step on this screen is to enter and “Submit” the details of the sender being your name or the name of your practice and the email address of the sender. This is the email address which will be used to send e-signature and invoices.
